Model Suite: River City by Urban Capital

As the first phase of Toronto’s new revitalized waterfront, River City is Toronto’s ground breaking residential development for the twenty first century. Designed by Montreal based Saucier + Perrotte architects, winners of seven Governor General Awards, and surrounded by some of Toronto’s most spectacular urban parks, this LEED Gold, carbon neutral development of over 1,000 loft-style condominiums, family friendly townhouses, cafes, restaurants and boutiques will be like nothing else in Toronto. This was a wonderful opportunity for Suite 22 to get involved with such an incredible project that we would be proud to be a part of so we jumped on board without hesitation.  Working with a wonderful team at Urban Capital who have beautiful projects popping up all around the city of Toronto, we quickly understood what they wanted in terms of style for their model suite and we think the outcome speaks for itself.

Monochromatic – a beautiful combination of blacks, whites, and greys, the space is edgy yet comfortable targeting young professionals or small families. Much like the selection made in our model suite at the Fairground Lofts, the combination of the Lago Air table with Bonaldo Pangea chairs was the most popular choice of what we had in stock available for a quick installation.  The Lago Air table is a thick wood top sitting on two transparent glass legs giving the look of a very light space.  Paired with the Pangea chairs, made of a solid polypropylene plastic, this combination is both stunning, yet very easy to maintain.  These versatile chairs allow you to bring them outside to the patio if extra seating is required as they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.  The contrast of the black table and white chairs give a very dramatic look complimenting the finishes in the kitchen.

The simplistic look follows through to the living room where we used the Bonaldo Boston sofabed in a beautiful grey fabric.  This sofabed looks and sits much like a regular sofa with its plush cushions but underneath reveals a pull out mattress without having to remove the seat cushions.  Sitting alongside are black and white Bonaldo Tectonic end/coffee tables that can be easily moved around when extra space is required.  The dramatic contrasts continue with the white leather Bonaldo Rest Down lounge chairs with a black Diesel Rock floor lamp an arm lengths away.  A very clean and clutter free design gives the illusion of a larger living space allowing you to add pops of color that can be easily changed throughout the seasons.

Being a large two story unit, upstairs reveals a spacious landing that can double as a home office where we placed the Cattelan Italia Qwerty desk and the infamous Her chair by Casamania, keeping true to the black & white throughout.  This space transitions into the two bedrooms where we used the Bonaldo Bloom Alto in the master suite with two iCosi end tables also by Bonaldo while the second bedroom shows the Avril by Jesse with a Tonin Casa Trafalgar bookshelf. A wonderful layout, great space, and a beautiful new area of Toronto – this will truly be a great place to live.  Feel free to check out this model suite at 45 Lower River Street (Townhouse 101), Toronto, ON.
